Westwind celebrated a special day a couple months ago.  It was 20 years ago (March 27, 2017) that we received our letters patent as a corporation.

Westwind is proud of the milestones – from being the first large public forest Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified in Canada to the more recent recognition of the special form of forest tenure that Westwind holds and continues to develop. Westwind continues to be a strong independent actor in forestry conservation and management.  The Board maintains a high standard of governance practice, in keeping with our origins. We aspire to become an “Enhanced Sustainable Forest License” holder (maybe the first).  We are pressing the government to complete their commitments to the tenure modernization process before we commit to that.
